Jamie Baum at the Jazz Cave

Jamie Baum, an internationally-acclaimed flutist and composer will perform live in the Nashville Jazz Workshop’s Jazz Cave. This opportunity is for one night only, February 2 at 8:00 PM. She will be joined by Bruce Dudley on piano, Roger Spencer on bass, and Marcus Finnie on drums.  Tickets are available for advance purchase on Monday, January 21 at 10AM. Baum is flute instructor to jazz flute students and jazz saxophone students at Manhattan School of Music, and she has had a successful career as a flutist, composer, recording artist, and clinician. Baum has toured the US as well as internationally, appearing in several major jazz festivals including Madrid Jazz Festival and North Sea Jazz Festival. She has performed with many of the modern jazz greats such as Fred Hersch, Randy Brecker, and Dave Douglas. Baum has been included in many rankings and polls of publications such as DownBeat Magazine and Huffington Post, and has received awards for her compositions.

Prior to her performance that evening, Baum will be giving a clinic from 5:00 to 6:00 PM: The Secret to Flute Technique for Doublers and Intermediate-level Flutists. The clinic is geared towards saxophonists and flutists who want to understand the pitfalls of doubling and how to improve their technique. Admission to the clinic is free.
