The Wiz is Coming!
The Wiz is on its first Broadway tour across America in 40 years! The Tony Award-winning Best Musical is coming to TPAC. Many of us are familiar with the film adaptation starring Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, and Richard Prior (among many others), but have never gotten a chance to see it live.
This groundbreaking twist on The Wizard of Oz changed the face of Broadway—from its iconic score packed with soul, gospel, rock, and 70s funk to its stirring tale of Dorothy’s journey to find her place in a contemporary world. The new tour has choreography by JaQuel Knight (Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies,” Black Is King) and additional material.
The Wiz will be at TPAC’s Jackson Hall, September 23-28, and it’s almost completely sold out; if you want tickets, you’d better get them quickly!
